Kamchatka
I have been thoroughly impressed with Kamchatka. I'm a little disappointed that I hadn't heard of them sooner. They're from Sweden and they play Blues Rock jams - as seen here -

Them Crooked Vultures
It turns out that I missed quite a bit in my 2-3 month hiatus from normal blog browsing routines.
Dave Grohl on drums, Josh Homme on the guitar, and John Paul Jones on Bass... Holy crap!

Young Widows - Live + Interview
26 minute video, but completely worth the watch.
Looks to me like the drummer is wearing a Baroness shirt.

Baroness and The Fall Of Troy
Two of my favorite Hard Rock bands are both coming out with new albums in October. The Fall Of Troy is coming out with In The Unlikely Event on October 6th. Then, on October 13th Baroness releases their Blue Record.
Baroness has a new song up on myspace.
If you're willing to do a little searching, then a couple new songs by The Fall Of Troy are out there.

bygones
Arguably two of the best in their noisy rock genre, Nick Reinhart, guitar and vocals for Tera Melos and Zach Hill, drummer for Hella, Goon Moon, Marnie Stern, El Grupo Nuevo de Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, etc, have teamed up to make bygones. They have said that this is a band, not a one time deal, that will tour and continue to make albums. Tera Melos is still together and Zach Hill is now in the thick of another solo album (not to mention a lot of other things):
bygones first release, by-, will be out on August 4 (as long as they don't delay it anymore).

Portugal The Man
One of my favorite bands of all time. New and different sounds with every release. Here are all the videos up to this point that are out for their new album The Satanic Satanist, but it seems like more are out everyday.

Dirty Sweet
Pretty awesome video, and song. This is a song from their next album American Spiritual. They've recently been added to the Lollapalooza lineup as well.

Maps & Atlases
This band reminds me of summer, probably because I saw them twice in summer '08. They are pretty great live and have a fun sound comparable to Vampire Weekend. I haven't seen Vampire Weekend live yet (Lollapalooza '09 will fix that), but I think Maps & Atlases (myspace) are more exciting.

Porcupine Tree
Although they've been around for awhile, Porcupine Tree's sound is ever changing. It is definitely atop my list of must have music.

O! The Joy, O Lucky Man!, The Plastic Constellations, and The Reptilian
Band O! The Joy is from Sacramento. I completely enjoyed their album Zen Mode, which came out nearly a year ago. This is definitely a band I am looking forward to hearing more from. Songs and a little info are here.
O Lucky Man! is also from California. They create a lot of sound with just a two member band. Their website simply explains of a new record, but I don't know how long that has been there.
The Plastic Constellations had their "last show" on April 19, 2008. The band is from Minneapolis and have four albums from 2002-2008. I recommend 2004's Mazatlan as a starting point.

The Reptilian have released two EP's so far. I am still working on hearing one, but Boys' Life was released March 3rd, 2009. It is pretty fantastic in my opinion. Both EP's are available on iTunes.

Sleater-Kinney, Be Your Own Pet, Jaguar Love, CruelBlackDove, Dengue Fever, Duchess Says, Marnie Stern
The band Sleater-Kinney have been on hiatus for a couple years now, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the tunes. 2005's The Woods was the album that attracted me to the band.
The band Be Your Own Pet (myspace) called it quits also, back in August. They did this several months after Get Awkward dropped.
Around the same time as the break-up of Be Your Own Pet, Jaguar Love released Take Me To The Sea. That is a dude singing those lyrics, if you can believe it.
Cruel Black Dove is another band I am not sure how I found. On some blog at some time, I'm sure. Their album Full Powers has been around since the middle of 2008 and is available on iTunes.
Dengue Fever is heavily characterized by their cambodian singer.
This is from Venus On Earth (2008)
Duchess Says is a band from Montreal. The first song I heard by them was Ccut Up which can be heard, along with some other crazy songs, on their myspace.
Marnie Stern released her newest album about 4 months ago (I won't be writing down the title for you, you'll see why). She collaborates with Zach Hill in both her albums. Yes, it is her playing the guitar.
The Noisettes have a new one coming in about a month, so I will post them later.

The Blue Van, Icarus Line, Living Blue
The Blue Van is a band from Denmark. Man Up is their newest album, released back in October. The song Silly Boy, which is probably their most pop-sounding, can be heard in some commercial.

I have no idea how I found The Icarus Line, but the other day one of their songs came up on my random shuffle. They've, apparently, been around for about a decade now.
I found The Living Blue on myspace while I was searching for a 70's blues rock band called Livin' Blues. Walk Talk Rhythm Roam was released January 20th. The Living Blue album Fire, Blood, Water has a little more of an edge to it, which I liked more. Songs from the newest release can be heard on their myspace. Both are available on iTunes.

Franz Ferdinand, The Bees, Pan & The Goddamns
They've danced in the spolight before with songs Take Me Out and This Fire. Franz Ferdinand is back in 2009 with album Tonight.
The Bees release Octopus is their newest full length. The album goes through a variety of sounds. Pretty enjoyable.

Pan & The Goddamns, as far as I know, only have the three songs that are on their myspace. Off an album called Three Songs For Tom Waits. I found the band through a post they had written on the Cajun Gems myspace page.

Local Chicago band Replica Republic has been tearing up the scene for some time now. Live shows are energetic and recommended.

Hello Electric, Dr. Helicopter, Celebration, Trips & Falls
I was on Portugal. The Man's website watching a few of their videos and some Hello Electric songs were in the videos. After I looked onto P.TM's myspace I quickly found Hello Electric and Dr. Helicopter. Streaming songs for Hello Electric can be found on their website. Dr. Helicopter is a little harder to find. I found a few songs available on another blog (check out Kickball as well) which also had a post about the band Celebration.
Celebration's newest is The Modern Tribe (2007)
Hello Electric released Pilot in 2008
Trips & Falls I found while briefly browsing hype machine. Their album, He Was Such A Quiet Boy, has been around since August.
Oh yes, bits of new sounding songs are among the sea of Portugal. The Man videos.
